Kid's swimwear
As with men’s swimwear, boys wear swimming trunks and that’s
about it. You might find a Speedo or two in the mix, but they’re
discouraged because of social standards and an increasing worry
about the prying eyes of sex offenders victimizing our impressionable
youth. Little boys are still going to get these looks, but they
aren’t as at risk as they would be if they wore something
that showed a little more skin.
Modesty is a big part of choosing what kind of bathing suit your
child wears, but sun protection is also another important factor
you need to consider. In their younger years, a child’s skin
is more sensitive than it will ever be in their life. As a result,
they’re more susceptible to skin cancer than they will ever
be. Some might say young people can’t get cancer because they’re
young and the immune systems of younger people are stronger than
that of adults. The tragic reality is that a ton of children get
cancer. The numbers are growing to levels larger than we will ever
want to admit.
The more skin a child shows, the more area they have exposed. The
more area they have exposed, the more they’re at risk because
the sun has a larger surface area to cover. You can slather your
child in sunscreen all you want, but they’re still at risk
if they’re exposing a lot of skin to the sun. Skin protection
and modesty are two things you must always consider when you’re
shopping for your child’s swimsuit. If it ends up costing
you a little more, that doesn’t matter as long as it meets
these criteria.
