Ladies swimwear

Fashion has changed in multiple ways since the first bathing suits were made in the mid 19th century. Women were previously bathing in modest swimwear. Modest swimwear consisted of long skirts with modesty shorts underneath. Modesty shorts are a lot like the boyshort swimwear we see today. As fashion evolved over the years the style of ladies swimwear did too.

In the 1920’s ladies swimwear was changed. Instead of bulky swimwear women began to wear sleeveless tank suits. It hugged the figure and was more revealing than previous swimwear. By the 1930’s the sleeveless tank suits starting to become more revealing allowing some of the abdomen section to be seen through cutouts in the suits. In the 1940’s swimwear manufactures began to add tummy control and bra cups to the suits. This was the beginning of padded swimwear and push up bikinis. In 1946 Louie Reard patented the modern bikini.

The modern bikini evolved into the minimal coverage swimwear we see today. A high cut blue bikini was replaced by a low cut string silver bikini. Whether it is a red bikini on the beaches of San Diego or a gold bikini on the coast of Miami you can now find swimming suits in practically any color or pattern you would like. Buying swimwear online makes it so easy to find exactly what you are looking for.

In addition to buying ladies swimwear online you can also find matching accessories for your swimsuit fashion ensemble such as beach towels, beach totes, board shorts, and sundresses.
