There are days when a bikini just will not cut it when you need something with just a little more coverage then the usual bathing suit on the sales rack. Modest tankinis seem to be the only option for those of us who still require leaving something to the imagination.

Tankinis can be the ideal choice for many reasons. First off, there is the obvious argument that they are just more modest. They do not reveal as much as the standard bikini. But there are many practical reasons as well. Maybe you want to do more than lounge at the beach. Tankinis are great to workout in. They usually have a built-in shelf bra for support so you will not shy away from an invitation to beach volleyball or a wind surfing lesson. Or maybe you would like to hide the last few weeks of extra indulgence in chocolate, which resulted in extra abundance on your midsection. Lastly, have you ever tried to take off a one-piece in the restroom? This may seem trivial but when you have to take you whole swimsuit off in the restroom, you will remember theses words.

Then there is the convenience of a tankini. Paired with a lovely flowing skirt or even a mini it can be worn as a tank top on the way to the beach. You can pop in to the store or wear them to a casual beach restaurant as a tank and look absolutely put together. Where as a bikini might get you a few glances of disapproval. Whether convenience or functionality modest tankinis are the sure fire way to go when heading out to the pool or beach.
