Things to Avoid

While underwire bras can be great for those with a fuller sized bust, you won't want to use this as a part of your petite swimwear.  Other styles that typically won't work well include bandeau or tube tops for your bikini.  These looks can work from time to time, in the right outfits, but in general they won't give you the extra help that some other outfits can.  Also, be sure not to wear any tops that are too large for you.  An accurate cup measurement is an important prelimary step to buying petite swimwear.

Things to Wear

Triangle top bikinis are one of the best options for petite swimwear, since they come in a variety of styles that look fantastic, and they really emphasize the bust.  They can (without looking like they're trying) bring more of an hourglass figure and create a little bit of extra.  You can also get a padded triangle top, or any other padded top, in order to make this area fill out.  Using the right patterns, including those with horizontal stripes, also helps create the effect you're looking for.
